For studio Beeld in Beweging (BiB), a Dutch company for online video production from The Hague, LABnl designed the logo and cards. This young company is all about working with the latest techniques to make you or your company editorial by moving image. For their own identity they wanted a small icon made from the capitals of their name ‘Beeld in Beweging’ and with the name in full length. Not only as a logo for cards, paper and website, but also on screen.

Bali Bales

For Bali Bales, a Balinese company specialized in tailormade bamboo cabins so called ‘bales’, LABnl shaped the identity and produced all graphic work. On location photographs were taken and transformed into 3D renders with all the required specs. Their old logo was also transformed into a more powerfull and stylish solution, together with differentiated typography. The cards were printed on recycled paper with a clear photo from a bale on the back. Every customer who gives an order for a new tailored bale will receive presentations by i-pad which includes photos, building specs, infographics and all documentation.

In a few sentences about Bali Bales: ‘The Balinese Bale is an open building, erected on foundations, with wooden column supports and a roof. Each building is built for a specific use, and the indoor-outdoor aspect of these houses where there’s a roof for shade and shelter, an absence of windows and doors allows breezes, ventilation and an easy flow from one space to another.

The philosophy behind BaliBales is to use natural and traditional materials, traditional methods of construction, local expertise, specialist craftsmen for each particular type of material, and then injecting modern concepts of design into our Bales.’

suit’d®suits branding

Suit'd® suits: own product brand

suit’d®suits is the new invention for covering your plastic powerplugs and reshape them with natural materials. With this solution you can now easily transform this part of your interior.

Our goal is to provide customers with a wide range of natural and eco-friendly fabricated powerplug covers. All made and fabricated in Holland and we work together with unique suppliers in these materials.

This spring we will launch a second website with all the information you need, and see all the possibilities that can help you customize your interior at home or at the office.

The brand is a combination between the name ‘suit’d’ and the material, like wood. The first series are made out of different types of Plexwood®. Very nice in combination with a wooden floor!

Design exhibition Amsterdam

First public preview Suit'd wood

At Materia Inspiration Center, a design center in Amsterdam, we have our own place offered by Plexwood. We’d like to thank them for this opportunity and inform you about this place. During the exhibition ‘Craftmanship’ companies, who fabricate innovative materials for architectures and designers, will show their latest supplies and products.

From the second of february till the end of may this year this exhibition is open for public. You can give them, and LABnl, a visit by checking out their website for further information and how to get there.

A clever and stylish solution to cover your plastic powerplugs.

suit’d®suits: design your life.

Together with Dutch suppliers, LABnl decided to develop a new interior design concept. The designed covers are easy in production and usage and all made from natural and eco-based materials. A cross-over between graphic design and product design. Our first production is made out of different kinds of Plexwood.

HSA identity

fresh new look

HSA, a Dutch company specialized in financial and business administration, asked LABnl to develop their visual identity. This task begun in 2011 by designing the dynamic logo, business cards, papers and this year with a new website.

Pilot Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal

In june LABnl was asked by the Dutch government to develop a tender for an interactive application to inform people about their work in the Second Chamber (Dutch: Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal).

Together with a team of young designers from Universal Mediaman, LABnl decided to visualize the requested concept into an application for touchscreen devices (handhelds, tables and screens). As a team we designed and developed the interface, front-end, back-end, and software. We also decided to explore animation within the application together with movie making, sound scripting, editing and post production.

Thereby LABnl can offer companies to visualize complex information into clear communication with the usage of the latest technical features.

Shaping our identity

own corporate identity

LABnl is some sort of universal name: as in ‘fabrication’, ‘creation’, and ‘multidisciplinary’ laboratory (LAB) and ‘nl’ as in: from the Netherlands. We still think it’s a catchy and clear name and language-proof.

Our basic discipline is graphic design, so our identity had to be a special one. For all the printwork we chose Italian paper called Fedrigoni, from Verona. The cards are printed on 450 grams off white paper, together with two strong colours – azure blue and fruity orange.

In the near future we hope to expand our interactive media as well by making a mailinglist and newsletter every month with updates from our product and projects.

Hospital pictograms

icons redesigned

For the medical environment we designed a series of basic pictograms. During the planned exhibition the pictograms were combined with typography into wayfinding material, in this case made from acrylic glass.

These icons can be replaced in other environments as well by using parts of the existing corporate identity for a new fresh look. Contact us if you would like to hear more about this project, or when you know where we can adapt it.
